Kids Massage
While the benefits of pediatric and infant massage therapy are much the same as those for adults the approach to treatment is different depending on the age of the child. There are numerous reasons a child may benefit from massage therapy
Pediatric and Infant Massage Therapy – Pain Relief
While pain in children can be a sign of something serious, it can also be the result of many other less serious issues. Children experience muscle tension and discomfort from rapid changes during growth, sports, injury, carrying heavy back packs, lack of movement (long held stationary positions) or repetitive activities such as excessive use of game systems, computers, or texting.
Muscle tension in children can cause headaches, low back pain and joint discomfort and pain. Massage therapy for children is a gentle yet effective tool to relax muscle, relieve cramping and promote joint mobility and health and promote injury healing. This happens by bringing circulation and nutrients to the joint and muscle, blocking pain channels, reducing edema and by promoting the release of endorphins.
Pediatric and Infant Massage Therapy – Stress and Anxiety Relief
Children feel stress or anxiety about many things including homework, grades, family issues, peer relationships, illness or even as a result of chemical imbalance and mental health issues.
Children often don’t know how to communicate their fears and will internalize them. When this happens children may complain about stomach aches, or headaches, or other types of pain with no apparent cause. Often but not exclusively sleep disturbances can be linked to anxiety and stress.
Regular massage therapy treatments can stimulate the part of the nervous system (parasympathetic) that takes care of the promotion of relaxation, improving the management of stress and better sleep.
Research has shown that massage therapy can ease both physical symptoms as well as, emotional discomforts associated with pediatric medical conditions. Studies conducted by the Touch Research Institutes at the University of Miami School of Medicine show that massage can alleviate pain, anxiety and depression in pediatric clients. This healing touch therapy also provides comfort, relaxation, reduction of stress hormones and relief from chronic conditions such as asthma, nausea, constipation and muscle aches.

Su Jok Acupuncture
"Su Jok," translated from Korean, means hand and foot. The hands and feet represent a mirror image of the anatomy of the human body with all of its associated organs and structures. The hands and feet are like remote control centers through which the functions of the body can be both assessed and treated.
Su Jok Acupuncture is a multi-dimensional healing system. The first dimension is a physical healing system of giving stimulation to the specific corresponding points in hands and feet. It is possible as hand and feet are miniature correspondence treatment systems of the human body in structural shapes among entire corresponding systems. The second dimension treatment is adapted from classical acupuncture in combination with the new theories of Su Jok Acupuncture on the points represented on hands and feet
ADVANTAGES OF SUJOK THERAPY:
• Highly effective and preventive method of healing
• No side effects
• Useful on both the physical and emotional level
In fact, I can assure that Su Jok therapy is accurate and effective in both acute and chronic health problems.

Traditional Chinese Acupuncture
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a healing art based primarily on philosophy as well as 5,000 years of history. The elemental philosophy is based on the theory of yin and yang, which represents balance. Yin represents qualities such as cold and dampness, internal, rest, fluids and water, darkness and night. Yang represents qualities of heat and dryness, external, movement, fire, brightness and daytime.
For example, an individual with a yin constitution might be quiet and shy with a soft voice. They often have a pale complexion and tend to feel cold. An individual with a yang constitution might be energetic and constantly on the go. They are likely to be extroverted, often with a loud voice, and tend to be quite talkative. They will usually feel hot, sweat easily and have a reddish complexion. Yin and yang are constantly interacting, for example, a fever (yang) may suddenly develop into chills (yin). The intention is not to be primarily yin or yang, but to have a balance between the two.
Another philosophy of TCM is that disease is a direct result of a blockage or distortion of the body’s vital energy, known as qi (pronounced “chee”). Qi is the source of all movement and energy within the body. It governs all voluntary movements, such as running and talking, as well as all involuntary movements such as breathing and heart beat. There are various types of qi. For example, your wei qi works in a manner similar to the immune system, protecting your body against disease, while your gu qi controls digestive activities.
Qi flows along pathways in the body known as meridians, similar to the concept of blood vessels. There are twelve primary meridians, each corresponding to the major organs of the body. Examples include the lung meridian, the liver meridian, and the kidney meridian. A disturbance or blockage of the flow of qi or blood along these meridians will result in a diseased state.
Chinese acupuncture involves the insertion of extremely fine needles at specific points along these meridians to alleviate blockages, revitalize the vital energy (qi) of the body, and stimulate the body’s natural healing processes. Acupuncture is effective because it addresses the root cause of an illness in addition to relieving the symptoms of disease.

Cosmetic Acupuncture : Anti-aging and facial rejuvenation
Cosmetic acupuncture is an effective, non-surgical treatment to reduce the signs of aging. It is not new. It has been used in China for over two thousand years.
Cosmetic acupuncture is suitable for anyone who wants to be healthier and look younger. Tiny, sterile, needles are inserted along meridian lines and acupuncture points to increases blood circulation. The face receives an increase of blood to nourish, oxygenate, and moisturize the skin from the inside out. Cosmetic acupuncture also stimulates the production of collagen, which gives skin a tight, firm look. It is also good for clients who have had Botox or fillers.
The initial course of treatment is between 10-12 sessions, 1-3 times a week for the best results. Each individual will respond to the treatment differently depending on their age and lifestyle. Visible results will generally be noticeable after 6-7 sessions. Maintenance may be needed once a month.
Facial acupuncture is the Hollywood star's shortcut to younger looking skin.
Who wouldn't want to look 10 years younger? You can - as long as you don't mind lying in a darkened room with needles protruding from your face, eyes and ears.
